New Details Emerge Concerning the Location of the Bodies of Rob and Michele Reiner Remains

Fresh particulars have surfaced about the tragic passing of esteemed film director Rob Reiner and artist Michele Singer Reiner, whose bodies were found at their Brentwood, Los Angeles residence on Sunday.

The Discovery

According to a report referencing a confidential source, a therapist scheduled for an appointment was the first to notice something was wrong after failing to get inside the house. This individual then contacted the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who resides nearby.

Upon entering the residence, Romy discovered her father's body. Accounts indicate she then left the home distraught, not realizing at that moment that her mother's body was there as well. A companion who had gone with her then dialed 911. Following this, first responders located Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Legal Proceedings

Law enforcement have formally accused the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with the charges of premeditated murder, including the use of a dangerous weapon, said to be a knife. He is presently detained without bail.

Disputed Reports

The anonymous source questioned several previously reported details. The source indicated that while Romy Reiner told first responders that her brother Nick lived in a detached unit on the property, she did not point to him as a person of interest at that juncture.

Furthermore pushed back against published suggestions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been especially "worried" about Nick's actions in the preceding period. The source claimed the family was "accustomed to working through [Nick's] problems together."

The statement applies to reports of reportedly "unstable" behavior by Nick at a gathering hosted by Conan O'Brien the evening prior to the tragedy. While the source noted they were unable to confirm whether Rob had "rebuked" his son at the party, they asserted that reports of a "major confrontation" between the two were not correct.

Investigation Timeline

As stated by law enforcement officials, the coroner had not yet established at that point whether the Reiners died on Saturday evening or on Sunday. Some accounts suggested the condition of their bodies pointed to they had been deceased for some hours.

Nick Reiner was taken into custody at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the neighbourhood of Exposition Park, roughly 15 miles from the residence. He was due to be arraigned on Tuesday, but his lawyer, Alan Jackson, stated his client had not been medically cleared and would be unable to attend until Wednesday at the earliest.
