Across the fiercely contested arena of interactive entertainment, it's typical for fresh competitors to disappear as rapidly as they enter the stage.

However the latest Battlefield is hoping to alter that.

This is the latest entry in a long-standing military shooter series frequently described as a more realistic alternative to Call of Duty.

The franchise has never quite managed to equal its most famous opponent in terms of units sold or players, but evidence points to the latest version could narrow the difference.

A trial event enabling users a shot to test the release not long ago achieved milestones, and the hype approaching its launch has been massive.

New Developer Adds Fresh Insight
